- Where do I begin?
Think about what your primary objectives are for having
a site, and who your target audience will be. Once this is established, begin to gather the materials that will make up the content for the various pages on your site - graphics, images and
text etc.. Your web site will be a reflection of you and your business or art, so take your time and think about what you would like to express on each page. It is a process. Try to enjoy it!
- What about hosting my new web site? The average cost to host a standard web site is only about $10 or less a month. We will discuss the best plan for you and will be happy to set this
up for you. You will be billed directly by the host company for this service. RLSdesigns recommends FatCow™ for this service. They are a robust, all-in-one hosting solution and are 100% Wind-Powered. Click here to sign yourself up or to get more information. We will be happy to sign you up as well for no extra charge!
- Once I gather the materials for my web site, how do
I get it to RLSdesigns?
You can send your photographs, slides,
digital media, etc. via USPS, UPS, Fed EX, etc.. Digital material may also be sent through e-mail.
- How many images may be on a gallery page?
You may have up to 20 images per gallery. If you would like more
than the initial 20 images, a minimal amount per additional image will be charged.
- What is the best format for images?
Digital - High resolution (up to 300dpi) JPEG images are best.
- How long does it take to get
a new web site online?
This depends on how extensive your
web site is and on how quickly you can get the necessary
content / materials to us. The quicker we receive your information,
the quicker we can begin the design process. Generally speaking,
you can expect a 5-page site to take as little as a week to ten
days to get online.
- Once our web site is completed, how do people find us?
RLSdesigns takes great care in how
your pages are built so that you might rank well. Your site will
be completely "optimized" and made "search engine friendly" so
that the audience you seek can find you. We will discuss with you
what target "keywords" and phrases you believe folks will
use to search for you, and implement those throughout your site.
We will also register your site with the major search engines such as Google and Yahoo at no extra charge.
One of the most important steps you can do on your end is to thoroughly integrate
your web address into everything. On your letterhead, business
cards, brochures, advertisements, newsletters, etc. Everywhere!
Also, you can make arrangements for "reciprocal linkage." This
means your web address is made available on someone else's site,
and theirs is listed on your site, so you each can benefit from the
combined group of visitors. The more reciprocal links, the greater
the opportunity for new visitors
- What happens if we occasionally need to make content changes? We will be happy to make the changes for you
on an "as needed" basis for our hourly charge - $55 per hour. You can make those changes yourself if you have the necessary equipment and expertise.

"Creating a web site was something that I had put on the back burner for way too long. Being in the mental health field,
our practice needed to be out there on the web. Beka's background in art is an asset to her work, as she put together
a very warm and comforting web page for us. She's awesome to work with
and even has
a good sense of humor.
Great Job!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

a web site because I thought it would be too expensive and that
I could do it myself. When I discovered RLSdesigns I found not only the pricing reasonable and straight forward,
but the designs very pleasing and creative.

"As an artist working in a very traditional and very low-tech medium, making a web site was way beyond my capabilities. A fellow artist recommended Beka. Just one e-mail and a phone call was all it took to make me feel that I was in very creative and capable hands.
Beka worked her magic, creating a warm and inviting site that totally captures the feel of my work. I am thrilled with the site and with Beka!"

"Being in the entertainment industry, a friend always reminds us that "Packaging is nine-tenths of the law." Allowing Beka total artistic freedom in designing our web site resulted in both a TERRIFIC web site and one which perfectly communicates the look and feel we want to convey to fans and venue owners alike. Her work has given us a tremendous advantage in a highly competitive field where image is everything."

Her impressive ability to translate my comments and wishes into a site that truly reflects my personality is testimony to her insightful listening skills. The process was exciting and I felt reassured with each step. She is an artist with the technical skills to bring your vision into (virtual) reality."
